Due to lower sales than I would hope, and an unexpected need to switch printers, Breaking Bread has unfortunately not yet gone to press. Apologies to anyone who has purchased one and is waiting. This delay is partially because most printers require a minimum order of 20 or so shirts, and we came in shy of that by 7 shirts. It is also because I’m not willing to print cheap shirts.
I have now found two printers and I am only days away from securing a business arrangement (and maybe a podcast sponsor) that will last, and allow me to offer consistent, affordable shirts.
Thank you all for your understanding and patience. Your shirts will arrive before your know it!
Have you ever heard of “boot-strapping?”
Boot-strapping is when a small business FUNDS ITSELF with whatever is on hand, or by SELLING PRODUCTS from the ground up to make their capital- never taking on investors.
This describes Monkeygong in a nutshell. I do most everything for the business myself, both because I am stubborn, and because I want to prove that crowd-funding can really work for me.
In late September, I began to “soft-launch,” building monkeygong.com piece by piece, and much of the hard work on the site itself is now done. That means the “official launch,” complete with marketing and press, is just a few short weeks away.
The main component missing from the site at this point, is art, and lots more of it. The time has arrived for me to begin producing original comic book and art content on a weekly basis, as promised. I am already working on three stories for release in the next 2 months, but I need your help to get there!
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, and a few crucial expenses yet to come for the business, it is time to send this shirt to printers.
Now just $20, this is a hand drawn design, with clean lines, colors and a healthy dose of sarcasm, but also idol worship (not un-ironically.)
By pre-selling the item, I am able to use every shirt printed, and never need to guess at sizes, or turn someone away because I don’t have their size.
